Navarik Inspection in Trading and Supply operations

Navarik Inspection captures all of the results during the actuals phase of a trade. Quantity, Quality and Time log information from each trade are the building blocks for harnessing increased business intelligence.

Quantity measurements performed at the berth have implications beyond a single movement of cargo. Vessel Experience Factor calculations can be applied to terminals and cargoes, allowing more accurate projections of volumes that will be delivered or received in the future based on historical volumes reported. Schedulers can select vessels or negotiate favorable freight rates based on the lowest OBQ-ROB differences. Operations can identify terminals and vessels in need of audit or calibration based on aggregate loss results by terminal and grade to mitigate loss. Unnoticed loss claims can be prevented from occurring by applying automated and standardized loss calculations. All of these results are then fed back into the trade process, adding value to all departments involved.

By capturing quality measurements at the load port, customers can prevent off-specification cargoes from being delivered to counter parties by alerting relevant users of contractual discrepancies. Refineries can be provided with historical trend analysis of feedstock quality results to determine accuracy of assays or whole crude properties for netback calculations. These analysis reports can then be used to prevent trading from engaging in deals that could result in off-specification cargoes associated with individual grades or suppliers, while at the same time engaging in more lucrative trade deals by identifying specific grades that can meet a supplier or receivers specifications.

Time logs can be analyzed to identify and rectify terminals that consistently cause excessive laytime that results in demurrage claims. Vessels and terminals can be selected based on favorable freight rates and average laytime.

Although Navarik Inspection is based on capturing actuals it soon becomes obvious that the ramifications of accurate and standardized nominations go far deeper and further up and down the supply chain than initially apparent. Navarik Inspection allows all of the stakeholders in quantity and quality results to have access to the information they need to make informed business decisions
