Cargo Watch™

Cargo Watch Cargo Watch provides a consolidated picture of all vessel voyages for shippers, and for exclusive and semi-exclusive shipbrokers. Users have easy, secure web access to the system from any Internet-connected computer using a standard web browser, anywhere in the world.

Cargo Watch was originally developed by Navarik for Petro-Canada so that its users could view and work with notes, events, survey reports, and cargo quality data, as well as fixture and market information, for load and discharge ports, using any computer with an Internet connection.

Cargo Watch has since been deployed to other Navarik customers, such as major Canadian potash exporter Canpotex, who now have information available from all their global divisions for accurate decision making and analysis. It can be configured for oil companies, dry cargo shippers, and their respective shipbrokers.

Automating parcel tracking and information sharing

For example, for every load and discharge port involved in a voyage, Cargo Watch allows charterers and their shipbrokers to track fixture details, parcel information, agency and inspector logs, and cargo quality information for every parcel. With Cargo Watch, all charter information can be organized and viewed in a private online workspace.

Processing data from ports, owners, brokers, and others

Cargo Watch forecast tabMessages sent from third parties via fax, telex, email, and postal mail to agents, brokers, and others are validated and entered into Cargo Watch. Information stored and processed by Cargo Watch can include data from:

Once in Cargo Watch, data can be processed and used to produce reports for analysis and planning, generate cargo in-transit inventory, send information to marketing staff and global company divisions, track invoices, and coordinate with scheduling and production staff.

Sharing information with other IT systems

Data can be exchanged with other IT systems using industry-standard Extensible Markup Language (XML) for interchange with accounting systems, other shipping software, and custom applications.
